We created CURRENT because we heard what you need. You have a passion for conservation, for wildlife, for all of the natural world that relies on the sea. You are dedicating your studies, and your career, to doing work you love and that makes an impact.
We have a vision for a healthier planet, and you are desperately needed to play your role.
A CURRENT is water that flows in a certain direction. The motion in the ocean. Sometimes, we don’t even feel its guidance, and other times it can show a strength that feels like it can pull us under. Always, we can return to a current to understand how interconnected we are with the rest of the world.
We also created CURRENT because we’re in this present moment, currently. It’s likely a lot different than you envisioned or imagined. But just like marine mammals, you and I are resilient. Flexible. And we can use our current reality to create new community and dream new dreams.
This virtual workshop is specifically tailored for, but not restricted to, students in university, veterinary and health-related fields, and beyond!
A healthy world benefits us all. We’re going to support your growth by focusing on Marine Mammal Health, Human Health, and Conservation Health. Each week features a unique theme and focus.
We’ll share compelling things that make marine mammals unique. Learn about disease outbreaks, cancer, working in the field, and innovations in medicine and care.
We’ll practice using tools that support your healthiest self. Learn how your own health influences your effectiveness; prioritize your professional goals, and speak your purpose.
We’ll dream up solutions to build a healthier world. Learn how to measure conservation health, and envision the world you want.
